Magdalena Zurawski, from "Ten Imaginary Love Poems for Joan of Arc": "1: Joan, Never Read or Write"

I and you
the comfort of a milktooth
sleeping late.
Rosehips sinking
our mouths personal.
We took our fingers, too.

But sunk wholly
is an ugly sound.
A little french girl
with her mouth opened
like an ear
against a mirror.
