Tree Harmonics
A modulation in the wind
foreshadows the new harmonics:
a modulation in color,
cherry petals resolving
towards yellow-green, as if liquid light
were puddling in those thin leaf-cups.
We are now in the key of e-flat.
I'd forgotten this would happen,
as while you were growing I forgot
that you would continue to grow
just as each April I forget
the color pink does not exist
in the lexicon of summer.
