Slavoj Zizek is a senior researcher at the Institute of Sociology, University of Ljubljana/ Slovenia. His many books include The Sublime Object of Ideology, Tarrying with the Negative, The Ticklish Subject, and most recently, The Fragile Absolute: Or, Why the Christian Legacy is Worth Fighting For. This event was co-sponsored by the English Department, the French Institute for Culture and Technology, the German Department, the History Department, the Kelly Writers House, the Philadelphia Lacan Study Group and Seminar, the Program in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory, and the Religious Studies Department. A reception followed.
